THE MEMORY ORCHARD

A Living Tribute to Your Loved One

What is the Memory Orchard?

The Daniels Farmstead Memory Orchard was created as a lasting way to honor and remember loved ones. As a young orchard with space for 42 trees, it will continue to grow thoughtfully over time, each tree planted in tribute to someone special.

Every apple tree is individually donated in memory or in honor of a loved one, forming a living memorial that blossoms, deepens, and endures with each passing season. Alongside each tree is a plaque commemorating their respective honoree.

During the spring bloom and fall harvest, donors and members of the community are invited to visit the orchard, reflect, and spend quiet moments within its peaceful setting.

Apple orchards have long held meaning in American communities, offering nourishment, gathering, and connection through the seasons. At the Daniels Farmstead, the Memory Orchard carries that tradition forward, creating a place of remembrance rooted in growth, renewal, and shared history.

How Does Tree Sponsorship Work?

If you are interested in sponsoring a tree, you will begin by completing an interest form and sharing the name and some details of the individual you wish to honor. Once your submission has been reviewed and approved, you will receive an invoice for the sponsorship.

Sponsors may select from a curated list of apple varieties chosen specifically for their compatibility with the growing conditions at Daniels Farmstead and the seasonal climate in Blackstone, Massachusetts. Availability of specific varieties cannot be guaranteed, and at this time, the Memory Orchard is limited to apple trees only.

Apple trees typically require five to seven years to begin producing fruit under ideal conditions. As the orchard is still young, harvesting is not currently permitted.
